Where Reactiv8 Began
Meet Our President
Larry Kuepfer
Reactiv8’s roots trace back to decades of real-world experience working with asphalt, liquids, and surface performance.
Founder Larry Kuepfer, President and CEO of Reactiv8, grew up around asphalt-based industries. In 1992, his father Steve founded Perth Dust Control, which grew into one of the largest dust control operations in Southwestern Ontario. That environment created a deep, practical understanding of asphalt behaviour in real-world conditions.
In 2009, Larry and Steve began working with a chemist to explore ways to improve the strength, flexibility, and longevity of recycled asphalt paving projects. Through years of testing, refinement, and field application, they developed a proprietary formula that produced reliable, high-performance results in recycled asphalt millings, performance that consistently impressed experienced industry professionals.
That work became the cornerstone of what would later become Reactiv8.
From Asphalt Success To Shingle Technology
In 2019, the chemistry behind our work with asphalt took a new direction. After achieving significant success in recycled asphalt rejuvenation, the team turned their attention to developing a high-performance asphalt shingle rejuvenator.
Rather than repurposing an existing formula, Reactiv8 invested in creating a distinct, purpose-built solution engineered specifically for asphalt shingles.
After extensive testing and refinement, the technology once again proved extremely effective. The result was Reactiv8 Shingle, a plant-based rejuvenation formula designed to restore flexibility, improve waterproofing, and extend the life of aging asphalt shingles.
